Filler
Filler dressings are dressings that are designed to go into the wound and to accommodate to the contours of the wound, whereas cover dressings are solid “sheet-type” dressings that are designed to cover the wound. Wounds with any depth require both a filler dressing and a cover dressing, whereas surface wounds require only a cover dressing. Filler dressings and cover dressings are available in both absorptive and hydrating forms, and in plain and antimicrobial forms. [17]
